Hey Matt. I'm a long time subscriber and a big fan of your work. I wanted to commission a very short clip (5 minutes or under) for my tutoring business. Please could you send me your email if you're up for the job. I really love the vibes of your videos and I see you as the person to bring my vision to fruition. Thank you

My personal suggestion for reaching maximal potential.
1. Watch Dokus about the Masters. Creators. People that changed their time.
2. Listen to Mozard, Beethoven, Classic Music, Harmony. Mix in some Jazz, some good Vibes. Explore Nature. Experience Sound and Color. Taste and Smell.
-Take care of yourself. Being confident makes a huge difference.
and 3. Find Balance. Do good things and better things will come around.
1000 steps more you could do,
at the end it´s all about being one with the eternal spirit.

Flow/DeepWork/Deliberate Practice....a lot of what is out there in the self improvement field is the same. Everyone is trying to sell the same thing with different packaging. There is nothing wrong in watching all these videos. But you have to ensure that something is improving.

Would have liked to have seen more examples on how to apply these triggers.
I work an office type job so can't change locations for Novelty. And I don't write documents that would require me to go through and edit for pattern recognition.
I'm sure there are things Im missing or not thinking of that perhaps I could do. That's why I would have liked to have seen more attention on how to apply this information.

There's an easier way than starting with a blank page or editing something else: start with notes. If you have notes you 1) never start with a blank page, and 2) start work directly on something you actually want to work on.

It's still funny to me when drawing that after 2 to 5hours I just "wake up" to an almost finished piece and then I finish it and the day after I keep asking myself "how did I do this"
Its crazy but only applies when I'm drawing... Not for any work that is relevant to society

If youre reading this, know that you are worthy of anything you desire. But you might have to let go of the past and release the huge accumulation of fear based beliefs and emotions you have picked up since childhood. Success isnt created by accident but by design. You have a creative mind and unlimited potential. Never forget it. Stay strong and be blessed 🙏

Flow/focus/batching. The longer you listen, the more it all ties in together to the big picture. Don’t stare at a blank page waiting for “motivation” or “inspiration”, just get started and let the flow catch up. Discipline yourself, you may never want to start writing, but consistency will pay off. I recently saw an interview where Stephen King replied to George R.R. Martin that he writes a few pages a day (I believe 3), and that is how he can consistently put out so many books. Something > nothing. DO THE WORK!! You’ve got this. ❤️ Check out Tim Ferriss, Les Brown, Jocko Willink, and Message to Garcia.

There Is a reason why Steven Kotler wore a joy division t-shirt. The lyrics of a joy division song, disorder, the song clearly resembles the flow state. The lyrics goes,
I've been waiting for a guide to come and take me by the hand,
Could these sensations make me feel the pleasures of a normal man?
These sensations barely interest me for another day,
I've got the spirit, lose the feeling, take the shock away.
It's getting faster, moving faster now, it's getting out of hand,
On the tenth floor, down the back stairs, it's a no man's land,
Lights are flashing, cars are crashing, getting frequent now,
I've got the spirit, lose the feeling, let it out somehow.
What means to you, what means to me, and we will meet again,
I'm watching you, I'm watching her, I'll take no pity from you friends,
Who is right, who can tell, and who gives a damn right now,
Until the spirit new sensation takes hold, then you know,
Until the spirit new sensation takes hold, then you know,
Until the spirit new sensation takes hold, then you know,
I've got the spirit, but lose the feeling,
I've got the spirit, but lose the feeling,
Feeling, feeling, feeling, feeling, feeling, feeling, feeling

I don't know if anyone else does this but when there's a short answer question that needs to be answered online, I copy and paste a random paragraph from the internet that could be talking about anything in order to trick my brain and tell it that I already started working and not be faced with empty space. Never knew why I did that until now.......

FLOW HACKS TO GET OUT OF BEING STUCK IN A RUT:
(This is just a mini summary I’m doing for myself to screenshot and refer back to)
NOVELTY
- Do boring tasks (like doing homework or reading textbooks) in NEW environments.
Application: Go to different coffee shops, try different rooms in your home, different libraries, co-working spaces and different areas within these spaces.
When to apply: When you’re feeling bored by a certain task and that work feels like a chore.
PATTERN RECOGNITION
- Edit over creating from scratch.
Application: Edit a previous piece of work (like a piece of content you wrote, video filmed or photos you already took) FIRST before creating new pieces of content from scratch.
When to apply: When you have a creative block and when you feel overwhelmed at a new piece of content you know you need to get done. First finish editing a previous piece of work as it’s easier to edit and gain momentum to create new content compared to creating new content off the bat.
RISK AND UNCERTAINTY
(my own interpretation)
- Do something that scares you just a little bit by putting yourself out there and let go of the expectation. Set aside 5 minutes to take crazy bold action and tell yourself that after those 5 minutes you can go back to your old, boring life.
(The hack is that in those 5 minutes you’ll get your adrenaline pumping so you’re probably going to continue feeling dope and be surprised at how easy it actually was to get off your ass for 5 minutes to do something really important and a bit scary for yourself)
Application: Set a timeframe of 5 minutes and in those 5 minutes you HAVE TO: Speak up about your work and area of expertise in a meeting (don’t keep quiet), make one new suggestion of how you can improve things, play a musical instrument or give a speech in front of people, go live on social media without overthinking things, send a pitch proposal to new clients or to collaborate with others, apply for a new position or job that you’d like without overthinking things, give your opinion even if people might not like it, put your hand up in class to actually answer and participate, film a video without overthinking things.
Do it immediately in those 5 minutes to force yourself to take those small risks.
Basically take bold action in something you’d like to do but feel a bit scared doing. After doing it go back to chilling and make the goal taking action. The goal here isn’t to be “successful” but to just ACT.
When to do: When you’re unhappy with where you are now in your life and want to be somewhere else. Take 5 minutes and immediately take action doing the thing that scares you on your path to getting to that place you want to be.
For example: You’re single but would like to be in a relationship (there’s nothing wrong with that if that’s what you truly want)
Set a 5 minute timer and download tinder, upload your pictures and start swiping right GENEROUSLY.
The goal isn’t to meet your soulmate in those 5 minutes, it’s to just take action and take the risk of putting yourself out there without overthinking things!
(P.S. I actually met my fiancé on Tinder doing this lol. I had no expectations and now we’ve been together for 2,5 years and are getting married in April!
I also started my own business and getting clients this way by reaching out to people through Facebook Groups and IG by literally just building a relationship with them. I didn’t try to sell anything and just went in with the mindset of putting myself out there and helping those prospective clients for free at first. Now I have a full time location independent business.)

Your guest opens with the "10% of our brain" narrative, which makes it really hard to take him seriously. It is an absolute myth that any human uses only 10% of their brain. Try and find a single source of proof for the claim. There isn't any.

An intriguing take on the flow of your creative mind.
It all takes small sprinkles of dopamine.
For eg., the hardest thing for writers is the vacant page. One should commence their day with reworking the earlier work so that it discharges dopamine which indisputably is the task accomplishment.
Releasing these will boost you to perform more.
Next suggestion is to try new coffee shops or locales.

An object in motion stays in motion, and an object at rest tends to stay at rest. Newton's First Law implies that procrastination leads to more procrastination, and action leads to more action. ...
So do the FIRST STEP TO BE IN MOTION AND STAY IN FCKNG MOTION
