How is it that a 21/22 year old can do all this while the guys I date who are in their 30s are lazy pieces of doodoo?

Random strangers: "Hi...What do you do for a living?" Alec: "Hi! I forge weld metal and steel in smelting hot ovens. I hammer said molten metals into swords, daggers and I make knives...I fix lathes and milling machines. I repair MASSIVE pneumatic hammers! And in my spare time (when I'm waiting for Will) I sit in a warehouse by myself, sewing PPE together...For my other business..." Alec:" This is HARD!" Some factory workers all over the world thinking...You say it's hard? I make 1000 of these a day! All jokes aside...It's always a good thing to expand and get better as a human being... Kudos!

GASP!!! You mean you're actually going to start making some kind of product after all this time? I mean it's not like you've been in the country for like a year now, spending that time for the most part seemingly gathering tools and making dungeon-like furniture for your bedroom... along with the bromance with Will (amazed he let you have enough time away to meet a girl). TBH I miss the shop across the pond and the activities there... where it was YOU doing your own stuff.

I mean, sorry, but I'm just not a Will fan. I was excited for you when you said you were moving country, but then all of a sudden it was nothing but "Here, watch Will do this because I'm not around.". I didn't subscribe to this channel to watch Will. Not impressed.

You should look into getting a t-shirt printer. Then you can source your own blank tees and print and ship them yourself.

Best part is that if you print your own you would not need to keep a massive inventory of each print just inventory of colours and sizes then print on demand.

Also Alec I have to say, I work in a fabric warehouse... and if you do get larger... your warehouse is the Heart, you will need the space..... our owners didn't realize it, and everything is crammed into a small building, although thats supposed to change, but if they had dealt with it in the beginning, they wouldn't be in such a mess now....

Tip of the month... Use two different colored threads when adjusting the tension, so you can see very easily which thread is tighter and which is looser. Late but that's my 2 cents worth. Have a great time Alex Make a pair of Viking turn shoes if you want to push your 3dimensional mind. have fun

Man how I’d love to collaborate with you! My overactive brain has me constantly wanting to just try new things I’ve never tried and oftentimes know very little about doing. Over my 40 years I’ve developed quite the jack of all trades experience learning everything from gun smithing to forging blades, making kydex sheathes and now I’m developing an interest in armor making. Definitely envious of your workshop, I work on a 10x10 slab outside on my patio but my macguyver tactics make it work for the time being 😜

Usually sewing demands that you start with easy projects, like a bag, or maybe a napkin. From there you choose progressively more difficult garments. At least you got a five thread serger and not a four thread. A 5 thread, because it can sew a chain stitch, is actually a sewing machine too. I can hardly wait till you start sewing oil cloth garments. Those cowboy coats that have a split down the back and conveniently allow you to ride a horse in the rain. I have a feeling that you will be good at placing garment rivets at stress points in a pair of jeans.

absolute cringed when I saw you setting it up lol. If you wanna come learn how to use an Industrial sewing machine, look Them up (below) and I'll say something to my dad. It's in Pennyslvania btw. There's not alot of canvas business's left. The one my dad operates out of is In Reading, PA. and there is another one in Philly (not apart of my dad's business.) and there's Florida tent and awning company. But besides that, I don't think there are any midwest-east coast canvas business's anymore. Even though my dad's business is primarily for coverings of things, He could still show you most of the tricks of the trade; Punching, Grommeting, Lacing, D-rings, Heat sealing, Strapping, Single-needle, Double-needle, Back stitch, Zippers, Snaps, etc.

Also, if you're looking to upgrade your sewing machine in the future, consider getting a Bernina. You won't be sorry. Especially if you can find an older one from the 80's made out of metal instead of plastic. My mother bought me a modern-ish Bernina but I still prefer hers, works better than mine.
Pogostix - 9 måneder siden
I don't know much about blacksmithing, but as an experienced sewer and costume maker: DO NOT, FOR THE LOVE OF ALL THAT IS GOOD, RUN A SEWING PIN THROUGH YOUR SURGER!! It will DAMAGE THE BLADE and you will be A VERY SAD PANDA. Unpin as you sew! (you can MAYBE get away with it in your sewing machine, although you still risk breaking the machine needle if you do.)
