U could have fillet brazed it old school stylee😁 I recommend learning and being fluent with imperial sizes decimal inches is where its at for a decent machinist in my opinion. Vernier are called very near for a reason 😋 get your imperial micrometer out.. My old boss could convert in his head and metric size to within a thou of an inch... to much production work i recon... believe me i tried for ages to get him and failed. Good luck

I'd chop my leg off to experience filming and documenting just one day in the life of Mr. Steele and Mr. Stelter. Would be an honour as a developing photographer/filmmaker! Stay safe and work smart!

just started watching your channel and realized i have that exact same ‘cross bike! absolutely love my TCX! As an ex-bike rep though, if there’s a company I can recommend for inspo, check out Ghost Bikes out of germany. I have their fully suspended SLAMR x5 and absolutely love it, titanium frame and their site is super insightful in terms of measurements given and processes used. You’re doing great!

that trig is actually relatively simple alec... you are just converting from Polar coordinates to Cartesian coordinates. Polar coordinates being theta and radius, and Cartesian being X/Y... You then just use SOH-CAH-TOA and a bit of algebra to find the side you are missing... =D sin(theta) = Opposite/Hypotenuse, cos(theta) = adjacent/hypotenuse, tan(theta) = opposite/adjacent
If you substitute your angle for theta, and your radius for hypotenuse you then have opposite (or y) = sin(angle) * radius and adjacent (or x) = cos(angle) * radius...
I think if you do that your measurements will come out much more precise... >_>
=D

I wonder if you could make a pair of chain stays which pivot off the bottom bracket using a pneumatic set of seat stays to absorb shock from the ground and result in a softer ride... if the seat stays were classically pneumatic than you could even tune them for whatever ride the user wants.

Coming from a mountain biker, I must say this is very entertaining and the geometry doesn't seem too far off from today's bikes. Also steel is a cool choice cause of the dampening properties. I'm stoked for the end result.

Keep in mind that your front fork is going to change in length - steepening the head and seat tube angles and dropping the bottom bracket as you ride. I'm not sure how tall you are, but the reach number you're shooting for is fairly short for modern mtb geo, but probably fairly standard as a of a few years ago. Modern mountain bikes can also take advantage of dropper seat posts, allowing you a far steeper seat tube than what you'd run on a road or cx bike. Most riders agree that the trend towards steeper seat tube angles makes bike much easier to get up steep climbs while mitigating much of the floppy slow speed handling characteristics of a slack head tube angle. Hope you haven't welded er up yet, lol.
