Finnish traditional "puukko" makers have used birchbark ages to make handles, so using leather is not cardinal sin if you ask me, though having just on layer kind looks corner cutting, but if there was birchbark section or leather sections, that would been cool. If my info is accurate leather handle gives superb grip from handle, so might be good way to cut cor...i mean make very nice grip :D

Mr Steele, your problem is that you get to focused on the details. That's why you failed to complete your knife. Your blade looked more like a machete than a kukri.

I picked up a Wartech Biohazard Kukri a few years ago for $25. It is my favorite outdoors all-purpose knife. It chops better than any hatchet I've used so far and would make a serious weapon.

Will definitely won that one but I liked both of them.... The white and black w/ that beat up look was definitely a stormtrooper style and the fat ended woodsman style were both very cool and I could see a definitive use for each of them. Awesome work guys... Keep it up¡!

I dont remember the name of it but it's a mild acid I used it in the navy to blacken brass placs. We called it antiquing solution but I'm not sure if that's the proper name.

Super glue is also really brittle and doesn’t like shocks, so not the best thing to use in an application like this.

I know I have pointed this out some time back but I will do so again. The shape of these blades is more accurately described as a Thai enep which is somewhat similar to the Kukri but distinctly different. While the Thai enep blade has a sweeping arc for the spine of the blade with the leading 2/3 of the much larger than the back 1/3 of the blade. (Exactly like the blade Alec is holding the intro to this video) The Kukri has a distinct angle about a third of the way up the spine and the front part of the blade is just slightly larger than the back part. The Thai enep is essentially a machete and works very well for that purpose. (hence the heavy front end of the blade) The Kukri was and still is used primarily for fighting, It has a notch near the hilt for the purpose of trapping the opponents blade and breaking it.
