This is starting to make me remember this one dream I had years and years ago when I was like 7 or 8 where I made a best friend in a dream, months and months turned into years where I couldn't remember that dream, fast forward to September 10th of 2019, I was in a house, laying down in a bunch of garbage bags filled with clothing and then, I hear this female voice saying "Oh, you're back", then I remembered the dream I had years ago, when I woke up from my dream I was getting really emotional to the point where I was gonna cry. Now I know what you must be thinking "Why would you cry over a dream?" Because this dream was really special to me and I loved every second of that dream, I want to go back to that dream someday

If you’re lucid dreaming, do not think of something scary. Since you’re partly awake, your brain will make your scariest nightmare. Also, do not think about pain or what if would feel like if you got shot or tortured or anything that has to do with pain. Your brain will simulate what it thinks that pain will feel like. Also, there is a high chance that you’ll experience a sleep paralysis after lucid dreaming. It would be better if you just didn’t lucid dream at all. Not every good thing doesn’t have a dark side. If you’re trying to escape your lucid dream, just think about wanting to escape your lucid dream. It’s like if you were to move your hand. Think about wanting to move it, compare that to actually doing it. Just close your eyes hard and expect to wake up, always works for me.

I usually lucid dream in a very dumb way. I'm dreaming and then, out of the blue I think "Y'know what would be sick? If [x thing] happened right now!"
It happens, I kind of understand I'm in a dream, I kinda don't and the more I think about it, the closer I get to waking up.

Ive lucid dreamt 3 times the best one was when i gave myself $3,000,000 and i could teleport anywhere i could imagine even if it didnt exist i also went to a show of some kind like seaworld i think and at the end a whale came from the sky leaving behind a rainbow and music started playing and it started raining gold flakes and then i brought my self to best buy and then somewhere in LA where all the stores are at and went on a spending spree and i also gave myself a back to the future hoverboard

I have an interesting relationship with dreaming. Sometimes I'm completely in control, sometimes I'm somewhat in control, and sometimes it feels like i'm trapped, but only kind of.
I can, under the right conditions, jolt awake for a moment as I'm drifting off, have enough awareness to decide what I want to dream, then drift off into that adventure.
Sometimes I'm mildly aware of what's happening in my dream, and I gently guide the dream to an even better plot option. Other times, there's an agreement between the aware me and the me in the dream to not get involved until I need to.
The most common thing I experience, however, is when a dream isn't gong my way - I change it. Let's say I'm getting chased... I will briefly become aware, change the thing I don't like, and then the dream will carry on from that point.
So if I was being chased into a dead end, I'd realize I'm about to get caught, I'll decide I don't like the outcome, and then decide that there is a door. Then when I'm out of immediate danger, the dream continues and I'm no longer steering it.
If I can't think of a solution fast enough, I'll just wake myself up to get out of a situation I don't like.
As a child, I thought that his was something everyone did.
I also experience layers of dreams within dreams, where I will wake up, think I am out of the dream, and then wake up again. This can be several layers deep, and can get me into trouble, as I'll think I'm awake and getting on with my day- only to realize that I'm not when something external wakes me up.
I can also become conscious at the ending of dreams, and will say goodbye to everyone. Or sometimes I'm about to wake up, and people in my dream will say goodbye to me before I do.
I don't get to decide when each experience will happen, for the most part. They're just options that are there sometimes, or not.
I also don't have the effortless ability to be aware of the outside world and the dream world at the same time... maybe with time I can get to that point. :)

I taught myself lucid dreaming when I was a teenager to regain control whenever I was having a nightmare. It definitely did work, as in even as an adult I know when things get weird, I don't really have anything to be afraid of. My reality check is to pull my feet up from the ground and if I float, I know there's no worries :D Sometimes I can control my surroundings, but most of the time I can only control myself, not the "narration".

Once I had a lucid dream. Everything was fine until I looked into mirror... My face was so fuckin ugly and all my teeth fell out immediatly. Then I woke up and I felt everything. I was shocked ngl.
Moral of the story: never look into mirror when you're lucid dreaming. Sounds weird, but it'll be hard.

I had a lucid dream ONCE in my life, and it was unforgettable. It was in the 80's. I was a kid and I had never heard of lucid dreaming before. I was in a dream and, although I can't recall the details of it, I remember it was an anguish dream, almost like a nightmare. I have the impression I was being chased by someone, but I can't say for sure. What I vividly remember is that - probably as a defence mechanism - I suddenly felt like I was dreaming. I just noticed it. Then, I remember thinking "if this is a dream, I can control it, because it is mine". I just paused the scene and thought "ok, I want to replace it with a good dream". I remember thinking on "how", and decided it would be like drawing: I needed a blank sheet for a start. So, with a movement of arms, I just "scrapped" the whole static scene off, leaving white everywhere. No silhouettes, no floor, no sky, no nothing. Just floating in white. Then I quickly decided what scene and plot I'd like to replace the blank space with, how the new story would begin, and started pointing "I want it here... I want it there". As I pointed, things just appeared. I remember recreating a whole new static scene, and even if I can't recall what it was, I remember it was a happy plot. Then, when the scene was complete, I just said to myself: "ok, I'm done; go on!" and the scene started rolling like a different movie. From this point on, I remember thinking things were correct and just relaxing, to submerge myself in the new dream, loosing the awareness and being carried away by the happy relaxing story. This was my experience. The trigger: I remember I had the weird habit of, during my waking hours, stop what I was doing and analyse the environment surrounding me. A child thing, but I just stopped and "saviored the moment". I used to untense the eyes region, take a deep breath, and feel myself internally and emotionally, as if paying attention to how things were and how it felt like to be there. In short, I stopped whatever I was doing to notice my surroundings and myself... today I know I could call it "to cultivate awareness". After a few moments doing that, I just went on with my life. In that almos-nightmarish-dream I had, I remember just doing that, as usual. I think since it was sort of a habit, this act just happened. When I stopped and payed attention, when I felt myself and how it felt to be there in the dream, I just got aware I was dreaming because it felt different from reality. This video inspired me to start doing this again. I hope I manage to having another lucid dream.
