In the future, look at replacing all those coach screws with bolts, as the vibration will eventually cause them to chew the wood to bits.

Spider drives are proprietary structural screws sold at Lowe's and Home Depot they are equivalent to a 3/8 lag screw and if the situation calls for it can be removed with a number 3 Phillips keep up the good work be safe

This is an old post however I make comment. How nice it is to see the effort you guys go to to insure that the shop is clean and safe. The grinding room and set up of tools all in departments and all easy to keep clean. I spent several hours watching a guy spend more than 3 years of his life and how many $$ in materials, rebuilding a dilapidated horse barn tuning it into a 40 X 60 shop, Daylight comes through the walls behind insulation. Walls are not sealed to the roof, inside or out, The roof leaks, Exterior parts of the building unclad and the floor half painted. A traveling crane drops an enormous piece of equipment because of a rusted out cable - which was obviously rusted out and reduced from a 6 part lift to a two part. The place is turned into a junk shop. what a contrast. Quality is all in the mind. Good enough is never good enough. You have done a magnificent job of it Alec & Will and all your helpers.

Why couldn't you guys use the shop individually. Will could come in and do his project, Alec, you could take alternate time - OR share time during the day. You all appear healthy and active. Stayig away from the general public & no visitors to the shop - and you are safe.

I think this thing would still be good for punching friction fit items together or apart for that matter, and the fly wheel might need to be cleaned. others have mentioned it in comments.

The base doesn’t work. These are not toys, there are mounting holes for a reason. I’d doubt it if the concert is even rated to for it. Hire an engineer with experience to do the math, pick a home, bolt it in. Then build guards around the moving parts. Make sure there is a way to disconnect power for service. Again, these are not toys

You have an awesome shop. Could have made a quick model and make a mold to make a tool for that bolt instead of cutting them off. Or you could have gone old school and ground a piece until it fit that Bolt

You guys need to make basically some big steel box tube pallets to permanently put on the bottoms of the machines, with notches for toe jacks and/or the pallet jack, as often as you scoot things around.

While I'm complaining, the over production of wipes and unnecessary cuts are getting on the way of the content.

Alec, you might want to add some removable weights on the pallet around the little giant, this will make it more stable and youll still be able to move it easily if you remove the weights!

I did a quick search for those patent numbers. All I could find was that they were issued in October of 1913. This might help date the machine a little.

Alec, she was first patented in 1921. The patent states she was first used in 1913. The machine is designed primarily for forming brass. It appears in a publication called Iron Age in 1922 that gives a good description of its function.
