One thing you didn't take into consideration is, ... the vice thread will get loser with wear as it is used, especially with it being bronze & NOT steel, ... so trying to make it lose like your other vices should NOT be an issue for ya.

3d print the entire pour. print the sprues an all. wax don't stick easy, is there a reason you can't engineer that printing if too large 3d print the sprue shapes an superglue them on

I wonder what ever steel frame could be fabricated and then cast bronze over it to make it even stronger. Would heat expansion rate difference between steel and bronze cause issues? Adhesion should be possible by roughing steel surface.

If you want to cut the next time at once a straight thread on the pin I have a tip for you!
Take the tap and put it on while you use the tailstock with a drill chuck as a support. So the approach is perfect and the rest of the thread too!

Print your sprues, at least the ones connecting directly to the piece. The main flows can be wax to save time. Then you get nice printed transitions to be cleaned up later, and where you have to connect it to wax is further from the finished piece.

Just wondering why when you have a milling machine did you drill crooked holes with a hand drill and cut woobly threads and not machine the flat surfaces for trueness. Still very cool and love those 3D printers.
judeanwhoremonger - 10 måneder siden
so you have a lathe but didnt cut the thread with it? wtf is wrong with you guys?
